Shine The Light was founded in the early 80’s. The original members were Gloria Claxton, Lynn Kent, Annalee Polo, Carla Richardson, Carl Bachelor, William Bufong, Corey Kent, and Markie Sexius. The present members are Carl Bachelor, Kenneth Belle, Gloria Claxton, Orlanda Joseph, Lynn and Corey Kent, Carla Richardson, and Markie Sexius.
Shine the Light's ministry travels have taken the group to many locations including and Tampa, Dominica, St. Lucia, Tortola, St. Kitts—Nevis, St. Maarten, Antigua, Barbados, St. Thomas, and the Bahamas, where they received the Bahamian Marlin Award for “Outstanding Caribbean Calypso Recording Of The Year”. They are also recipients of the 2004-2005 Virgin Islands Music Award for “Gospel Artist of the Year”.
Shine The Light’s goal is to see souls delivered and made free from captivity, by using the ministry of song. Since 2005, they have hosted “The Heart of Worship” on Good Friday. "This is a free evening dedicated to returning to the heart of worship, where we know God’s passion, grace and mercy for us is revealed when we truly worship Him in spirit and in truth."
Over the year's Shine the Light has made a number of releases including: Arise, Wakeup O Sleepers; I'm Blessed; God's Property; Mighty Warriors, and the Christmas CD entitled He's Born.
"Our future ambitions are to continue in the missionary field for Christ, answering the call of God through worldwide invitations to minister in West Palm Beach, FL, New York City, Connecticut and Canada to name a few. It is also our intention to continue to produce songs that are a blessing to your soul now, and into the future."
