Description
Built in 1998, the Jackie Opel Amphitheatre is dedicated to the memory of the late Barbadian singer, Jackie Opel, who created the musical genre spouge, a blend of ska and calypso considered by many as the true indigenous music of Barbados. Located in the heart of the capital city of Bridgetown, theAmphitheatre has become the established venue for the much anticipated Barbados Gospelfest Sunset Concert, which explores the rich talent of emerging Gospel artistes from Barbados and the Caribbean.
